Description
My Tiny Dancers from last Summer came back to produce this regal little girl! Here she is perched at the feeder as an immature (because her chest feathers are tan in color--mature are white) Ruby Throat Hummingbird. She really was very teeny weeny as a fledgling; so tiny I was afraid she wouldn't make it! But, "Bitsie" is made of stronger stuff and grew rapidly! I last saw her a week ago drinking nectar and getting ready for migration. They have all left, sadly, very early this year. Last year I was lucky to have a few almost into October, but Mexico and Brazil were calling my sweet babies home. Be safe, strong and come back to me, Bitsie! Oh, how I love these Tiny dancers...they just make my heart sing!

Lori, I LOVE this precious capture and your description is right from the heart. You must love them as much as I do. Today is Oct. 4th and I still have one coming to the feeder. I think it's passing through, but I still get a thrill when I see one. Now I have seven long months until they return. f/l
