Aren't Flickers one of the most beautiful birds? I have a pair of them around here and I just love to see and hear them. You have capture this one in such a way that we can see the beauty of their feathers and that amazing beak.

Artist's Description

A Northern Flicker woodpecker landed on a tree stump in my backyard, seeking worms, grubs or insects, I suspect. I've never encountered this unique bird before, and was stunned by the unusual patterns and colors in his feathers, as well as the red strike on the back of his head. Lucky bird--got his lunch, and I got the shot!!

Lori Lafargue

Lori Lafargue is a creative woman with an enormous passion for photography, a zest for life and a penchant for laughter. Let me tell you a little story of why this means so much to me...Years ago I challenged myself to find something pretty in the most awful of places I knew. In the darkest, ugliest, coldest spot I could find, I stood with my camera and eyes...
